In Puerto Vallarta we went on a real life pirate ship for a day-long excursion. We were fed breakfast in the hull and then entertained while we cruised over to a private island for some fun. Bummer is...it was pouring rain! We weren't dressed very warmly and we froze. At least they put big tarps over the ship while we were sailing. On the beach they had big umbrellas for us to sit under, and Steve and the kids actually got in the water bc it was warmer than sitting in the rain. Kids are resiliant though, they didn't mind the rain.
The kids got a chance to "steer" the ship. Here too is a picture of the big show the pirates put on for us.
Everyone is assigned a "personal pirate" and ours was great! He kept having me snap pics of all these fun things he did with the kids, like the arm wrestling at breakfast, and him holding the kids up.
On the way back from the island we were served lunch in the hull again and we were soaked and freezing and didn't want to go back up on deck to watch the returning show. Our personal pirate (Ernesto) round up jackets from his co-workers and let the kids wear them so they would be warm and watch the show. He was great!
