4th Grade County Fair

Jackson had his County Fair this year in school.  He picked Summit County (park City-woo hoo)!  The 4th graders were instructed to decorate a shoe box as if it were a float in a parade representing their county.  They also had to include certain things like historical landmarks, main source of industry etc.  Here is Jackson's finished project!

Steve made these great mining carts.

The only thing I did was make the paper mache "mountain."  I asked Summer how she liked it while it was drying and she said, "Good, it looks like one of those things in the winter that Eskimos go in."  An Igloo!  She was right!  Good thing Jackson is easy-going, he didn't care at all!
Steve and Collin (my creative one's) came home and helped Jackson put it all together.
We had one side of the "mountain" be the famous Silver King Mine and the other a ski slope.

Jackson had the idea to use a lego guy as the skiier and he and Collin put together this guy from all their parts!  It was the hit of the float!
