N.O.V.A. Graduation

Nurturing Opportunities Values and Accountability. This is the program that Jackson's school used to teach the 6th graders not to do drugs. They had an officer come once a week for 3 months and teach them about drugs and alcohol and the negative effects they have on your life. He did all sorts of activities with them like using "drunk goggles" and having them try to throw a beanbag into a bucket, none of them could bc it distorted their depth perception, blurred their vision etc.
The kids had to write a "constitution" at the end of the program telling what they learned and committing to stay off drugs. Officer Johnson chose the best constitution from every class and had them read it at the graduation. Guess what? Jackson's was the best in his class! They then did a calling of names and a walk through graduation with a certificate. Jackson was sitting at the front since he was part of the program and was giving people "knuckles" and "high-fives" as they went through, it was so cute!
Way to go Jackson! Way to make me a proud momma again!
